Boxford Schools

Boxford MCAS results placed 25th of the 373 towns listed in the Boston Globe ranked public school districts on their average rank on all MCAS tests taken Spring 2004. Interestingly, the 2005 6th grade math scores ranked 6th out of 580 schools based on the percentage of students testing as "advanced" or "proficient". The recent 2007 MCAS results show continued strength in the schools. Boxford is served by two excellent public schools, the Harry Lee Cole School for grades K-2 and the Spofford Pond School for grades 3-6. Boxford students continue on to Masconomet Regional School for grades 7-12.

The Cole School, as it is referred to locally, is a highly rated school in Massachusetts. Visit their classrooms to get a sense of the activities and make sure to visit the school calendar to get a perspective on the active school year.

The Spofford Pond School is also a highly rated school in Massachusetts. Visit the directory to access teacher email and class websites. Both schools are supported bythe Boxford PTO which creates an environment where parents and teachers can work cooperatively to bring about a closer relationship between the home and school, thus enhancing the educational process of the children enrolled in Boxford Elementary Schools. The current events calendar of the PTO list many opportunities for community interaction.

Masconomet Regional has just completed a major expansion and renovation to both its middle school and high school. Visit the program of study to learn more quality of education the school affords this community. The 2007 MCAS results for Masconomet Regional District are strong, highlighted by the 8th grade Science placement of 7th out of 462 schools tested.
